The High Court Commercial Divison conducted its Annual Review Conference for the year 2021 on 31st March – 1 st April, 2022 at Sunbird Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi.

In his opening remarks, the Judge President for the Commercial Division Justice Dr. Michael Mtambo informed the delegates that these review meetings provide the basis of assessing the performance of the Divison in the past year which includes achievements, challenges and resolutions as well as plans for the future.

One of the guest speakers to the event was the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Miss Martha Chizuma who made a presentation on ‘How to get a corrupt free work environment’. In her presentation she stated that corruption is evil and hence the need for institutions to review their policies to abide by the zero tolerance to corruption and fraud.

Among other high profile delegates to this annual conference were the Judge President for Commercial Division Hon. Justice Dr. Michael Mtambo, Commercial Court Judges for Blantyre and Lilongwe Registries, the outgoing Registrar of the Supreme Court of Appeal and High Court of Malawi Hon. Justice Gladys Gondwe, the Acting Registrar His Hon. Kondwani Banda, the Chief Courts Administrator Mrs. Edith Chikagwa and the Chief Human Resource and Management Officer Mrs. Naomi Kwerani.

Spicing up the events were activities like comedies, traditional dances, football and netball matches, boat ride to Birds Island among others.
